Confession

Even though my ancestors are from here

I cannot, for the life of me, use these properly

So, until I buy one of these

I usually ask for this

Or end up doing some version of X and never O

shameful. shameful.

Audiobooks

Due to petty silliness, I despised listening to books on tape/CD.
However, yesteryear has gone and left in the settling dust my newfound acceptance of audiobooks. A brand new woman, I embrace these heaven sent catalysts for multi-tasking.

Here are my recommendations:

Voiced by Tina Fey herself. Enough said.

You say, "...but I'm not into young adult fiction."
I say, "Phooey, go on and enjoy your boring, Katniss-less life,
...and drink all your milk or you don't get to play with my new blocks."*

*Full disclosure: my milk chugging toddler doesn't really need my encouragement to drink his milk.

Mustard Sauce

I'm blessed to say that I belong to a wonderfully large family: biologically, through marriage, and honorarily.

For almost a whole year before being sent off into marriagedom I lived with contenders for the most incredible loving family in existence. During one of the lowest points in my life, weighing in about 85 pounds, it was at the Calls that I was rehabilitated while being fed some of the greatest, most delicious culinary kick-that-depression-in-its-butt yummy-in-my-tummy home cooking.

I still often lean on them for support, and am very grateful to be a part of their family, however since I do not live there anymore I turn to some fantastic recipes to cure some of my homesickness. I'd like to share a sauce that is divine when paired with ham. Y'know, because I like a bit of ham to go with my mustard sauce.

Mustard Sauce
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar

Beat mustard, sugar, eggs and butter in a sauce pan. Add vinegar.
Stir over low heat until thickens.
Devour.

I'm finally out of the funk.

The time around my birthday is really hard. I don't remember ever being emotionally stable around May/June.

Hopefully, learning more about myself, my triggers, what I have agreed to carry and letting that go, will eventually stop this unneccessary pattern.

Because I rather enjoy being happy and calm.
